Shanding Group Holds Small Excavator Knowledge Contest

On August 15, 2025, Shanding Group held a grand Shanding Small Excavator Knowledge Contest at its headquarters. The contest focused on the technical features and market applications of its popular small excavator product lines, including the SD12E, SD12U, SD17E, SD25U, and SD30U.

The event was lively, showcasing the product advantages and technological innovations of Shanding’s small excavators through a variety of activities, including quizzes, simulated sales, and hands-on experience sessions. The knowledge contest ignited the excitement, and the event kicked off at 9:00 AM with a welcome speech by Shanding Group’s Marketing Director, Li Qiang. “We are hosting this event not only to test and enhance the professional knowledge of our sales team, but also to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the product advantages of Shanding’s small excavators in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere,” Li Qiang said in his opening remarks. The subsequent Shanding Small Excavator Knowledge Contest brought the atmosphere to its first climax. The competition consisted of three rounds: individual quiz, team quiz, and scenario simulation. The questions covered the technical specifications, performance characteristics, applicable scenarios, and maintenance knowledge of various Shanding mini excavator models.

In the most intense quiz, multiple teams pressed their buzzers almost simultaneously, highlighting the SD25U mini excavator’s “round tail design saves space, making it suitable for working in confined spaces,” drawing laughter and applause from the audience. Ultimately, the “Pioneer Team,” with its solid product knowledge and excellent teamwork, won the championship and received professional training courses and a gift package of the latest product information from Shanding Group. Simulated Customer Visit Practice Drills Enhance Sales and Service Capabilities: The second key part of the event was a simulated customer visit scenario drill. Shanding Group designed a variety of customer types and purchasing scenarios, with sales staff and the audience role-playing to realistically recreate various situations in the sales process. “We need a small excavator for orchard operations. The soil is relatively soft, and we sometimes need to transport fertilizer. Which model is best?” Sales representative Xiao Li quickly responded to the “customer’s” question: “We recommend the SD12E. Its ground pressure is only 32kPa, making it less prone to sinking in soft ground. It also allows for quick replacement of attachments like log grabs, enabling versatile operations.” This professional and precise response earned unanimous praise from the judges and audience. During the review session, Mr. Zhang, After-Sales Service Manager at Shanding Group, emphasized: “Through this hands-on exercise, our sales team not only strengthened their product knowledge but, more importantly, learned how to provide personalized solutions based on actual customer needs. This embodies Shanding’s core value of ‘Customer Satisfaction is Our Purpose.'” The afternoon’s event moved to the Shanding Group test field, where participants were divided into groups for hands-on experience with the SD series mini excavator. Several typical work scenarios were set up, including trenching for pipelines, precise handling, and slope adjustment. “The SD30U’s hydraulic system responds incredibly quickly, and compound movements are incredibly smooth.” The SD12E, designed specifically for home users, has won the favor of many small project owners for its compact size and easy operation. Of particular note, Shanding engineers demonstrated the SD25U’s boom side-swing function on-site, showcasing its unique advantages for working in confined spaces such as wall bases, tunnels, and alleyways. This design addresses the industry’s challenge of traditional excavators leaving blind spots when operating in confined spaces. Director Wang of Shanding Group’s Technology R&D Center delivered a lecture titled “Technical Innovation and Market Application of Shanding’s Small Excavators,” providing an in-depth explanation of the design concepts and technological breakthroughs behind each of its best-selling models. Taking the SD17E as an example, Director Wang explained, “This model utilizes Q345 manganese steel, offering a 30% longer service life than similar models. Combined with a newly upgraded hydraulic system and enlarged radiator design, it ensures long-term continuous operation without overheating.” These detailed designs are the technical foundation that has earned Shanding products their excellent market reputation. In light of the current industry trend toward green development, Director Wang emphasized Shanding’s presence in the new energy sector: “In addition to traditional diesel-powered models, we are also actively developing electrified products. In the future, we will launch more environmentally friendly equipment that meets our carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals.”

The event concluded successfully, with Shanding continuing to strengthen customer service. In the evening, the event concluded with an awards ceremony and group photo. In his closing remarks, the General Manager of Shanding Group stated that Shanding will continue to uphold its corporate mission of ‘making construction easier,’ providing customers with a more comprehensive product experience and timely service support through more diverse activities.
